Fritz opened his eyes a slit and gazed upon his sleeping brothers and sisters. He carefully got up and shook the moss of his brown tabby coat and stepped between his siblings to reach the entrance. He stepped out onto the crisp leaffall air and headed towards the cleft they used as the nursery. Inside was his mothers latest litter. His mother Nya was fondly gazing at her kits. " mother," Fritz cleared his throat," I was wondering if you wanted some freshkill." His mother answered," That would be nice."
Fritz nodded and started out of camp. He squeezed through the gap that led out of the inclosed camp and into the territory his father's father had claimed for his family and the generations to come. Fritz could smell the prey, which hadn't gone under ground yet. He heard a rustle of leaved and began to stalk a mouse. He caught it easily and scraped the frosty ground over it. He padded on through the trees and heard a loud crack to his left. he turned torwards the disruption and stood frozen as two twolegs emerged from the trees. His brain told him to bolt but his legs wouldn't obey him. The twolegs came within a fox length of him and looped a string around his neck and began to pull him toward them. Then Fritz began to struggle. He yowled loudly for someone to help him and tried to plant his paws into the the dirt. But the twolegs were too strong and were able to drag him into a cage. They picked him up and fritz was jostled into a monster. He waited for several heart beats and heard a rumbling noise then the monster began too move. He whimpered to himself in the stark black monster, dreading what awaited him. He waited for what seemed like moons, until finaly the monster came to a lurching to a stop. Suddenly sunlight blinded fritz and his cage was taken out of the monster. He was brought into a large concreate building and along a corridor. Lining the corridor were big cages full of dogs and cats. Fritz shrank back from the smell of urine and sickness. He was taken out of his cage and shoved into a stall with three other cats. They all looked at him with blatent hostillity.
" hello,' mewed fritz., friendly," I'm fritz.
one She-cat came up to him.
" Hello, fritz," She mewed hoarsly," I am marie. Where do you come from." " The forest," Answered Fritz," I lived with my family."
The cat mewed sympatheticly. The other two, looked at him with more pity than sympathy.
