Warriors: An Uncertain Past a pure white she cat and a pitch black tom sat together at the entrance of Mist Clan. utterly silent, watching the dawn light fill the morning sky.
"All right you to can go get some rest." meowed someone from behind. Nightwind relaxed and yawned before his leader, Rainingstar. He looked over and saw Frozenwind doing the same thing. The two padded off to the warriors den. They had just held their silent vigil and were newly made warriors.
Nightind peered in to the dark den of awakening warriors and quickly spied two empty nest side by side in the very back. He carefully picked is way through the stirring cats and hadn't noticed Frozenwind was already in her nest. He stepped carefully and quietly into his nest when he heard frozenwind squeak.
"Ow! Watch where you're stepping!" she whispered angrily. The warriors den was empty now and Nightwind put his head down by his tail to curl up. Frozenwind had bent down to soothe her tail and on accident, and Frozenwind bumped heads.
Green= tom Blue she-cat. I have safari and can't add colors like most of you. I borrowed a friends computer PC when doing the colors so until I get my PC laptop fixed... plain old boring black. SORRY :(

Prologue:
A pitch black apprentice was padding through the forest on his way with a border patrol.
"Now, Nightpaw, Can you scent the border?" His mentor Rainingstar asked.
Nightpaw ran up ahead and opened his mouth to taste the air. An overwhelming scent of Mist Clan and Meadow Clan filled his mouth. But a new scent was there also.
Nightpaw jumped as Rainingstar and the rest of the patrol pushed through the brush.
"Did yo find it?" she asked.
"Yeah, it's over there," Nightpaw pointed with is tail toward the strong scent of the two Clans," But there's another scent too." He informed his mentor.
Nightpaw waited as Rainingstar opened her mouth to find the new scent.
Rainingstar turned to the rest of the patrol.
"We should check it out."
And with that the patrol set off down the border, pausing every now and again to check the scent. It was getting stronger and Nightpaw was getting excited. It might be a rouge that he could fight off. Up ahead Nightpaw could see a small nest with two dead cats in it: A large white queen with a bloody neck and a small brown kit with it's belly sliced open.
Alarm shot through Nightpaw. Something had killed the two cats and had not done it very cleanly.What ever did this would need to be taken care of or would otherwise serve as a great threat to Mist Clan
An ear splitting wail brought Nightpaw back to the forest, where the horrifying scene lay before him. Nightpaw approached cautiously, ignoring his mentor's orders to come back. He jumped over the bush lightly and looked around. Huddled under a yew bush was a beautiful small white she-kit. Nightpaw approached slowly, not wanting to scare the little thing when it sent up another blood curtling wail.
"Stop your scaring her." Rainingstar whispered sternly.
Nightpaw stopped and watched as Rainingstar straightened up from her crouch and spoke softly to the little cat.
"It's okay. Do you know what happened to your mother?"
The little kit burst into tears. Nightpaw wondered if she could even talk, she was so small. Nightpaw hurried over to comfort the she-kit, and she immediately nuzzled and burrowed into his thick black fur. Nightpaw picked up the little cat by the scruff and the patrol headed back to camp.

A dark brown kit easily hopped off the small white kit who was helplessly squirming beneath him.
"There. Happy?" Rockkit meowed tauntingly.
Dovekit got up, licked her chest fur, and dusted herself off. Dovekit and Rockkit were trying to find something to do while waiting for Nightpaw to get back from his patrol with Rainingstar. He was her best friend and older brother. She and Rockkit both loved how he would teach them everything he had learned that day. They would be the best apprentices ever!
Dovekit padded out of the rapidly cramping nursery and over to the fresh kill pile.
"Bring me a nice plump vole!" Dovekit's mother, Sunmirror, called after her.
Dovekit flicked her tail in acknowledgement and reached the pile, at the very back of Mist Clan's cave home, in only a couple of paw steps.
At that moment she heard the pelts of many cats brush through the small entrance that lay between the cracked wall of the cave. Dovekit turned around to see the black and white dappled pelt of her leader leap onto the Highledge on the far wall of her camp. Dovekit looked to the entrance and ran over excitedly as her older brother Nightpaw pushed through carrying a tiny white thing in his mouth.
Dovekit stop irruptedly
"What's that?"she asked "You'll see." he meowed, muffled by his load.
Dovekit shrugged and padded away to join the other cats already gathering below the Highledge.
"Let all cats old enough to catch there own prey gather beneath the Highledge for a Mistclan meeting." Rainingstar's yowl rose above all the chattering cats and silenced them.
"While my group of cats was patrolling the borders, we noticed an unfamiliar scent amongst us."
Dovekit waited as one cat yowled," Was it Meadowclan?" "Nonsense! Meadowclan have always been peaceful!" another said.
"Stop!" Rainingstar's screech, once again, silenced the alarmed cats in the clearing below.
"This thing did not have any clan scent on it. It was an outsider, and I wish you all to welcome her to the clan." Rainingstar finished.
Many shocked and confused yowls rose up. Dovekit caught a few murmurs such as 'her?' and 'welcome her to the clan? Is it a cat?'
Another yowl sounded from the entrance. But this time it was smaller and higher and it wasn't meant to silence the cats, it was sent out in fear.
Every head turned toward Nightpaw. He had dropped the little bundle and it was squirming around on the ground looking for food.
Many cats took a step back as Rainingstar brought there attention back to the Highledge.
"Yes. Mistclan have saved a helpless kit. Her mother and sister were lying dead in her nest. Some kind of cat killed them. It was too clean for a badger or a fox. And now I will present her with her clan name of Frozenkit." meowed Rainingstar.
Most of the cats in the clearing were reluctant to welcome Mistclan's newest kit, but some were not as reluctant as the others. Nightpaw was the first to yell out,"Frozenkit, Frozenkit!"
After that many of the other cats started to let go of there tongues and the whole cave was filled with the kits new name.
Frozenkit just sat there huddled in a tight ball.
Dovekit noticed that Nightpaw looked at Frozenkit in an adoring fashion. She decided to push it to the back of her mind and padded over to greet Frozenkit.
"Hi, I'm Dovekit." She meowed cheerfully.
Frozenkit squeaked out her sentence so fast, Dovekit hardly caught the first word.
"What was that?" she asked.
Dovekit watched as Frozenkit tried to calm herself and took a deep breath.
"Why is everyone calling me Frozenkit? Why am I here and Where is here?" she managed to squeaked out.
After the question registered in her mind, Dovekit answered kindly, trying not to scare the new comer.
"This is Mistclan. We are a group of cats who live in the forest and survive off the elements."
"Why do you want to live in a cave when you can go find a nice warm tree stump to live in?"
Dovekit didn't answer, her mother, Sunmirror, was coming over to greet Frozenkit.
"Welcome little one." she mewed,"I hope you'll like it here."Rainingstar padded over.
"Sunmirror may I talk to you in my den for a moment?" and with out waiting for an answer she padded away with Dovekit's mother close behind.
Dovekit turned back to look at Frozenkit only to realize that she had disappeared. But Dovekit qiuckly spotted Frozenkit among a gourp of cats wrapping her long tail around her skinny body.
She saw Nightpaw pad over and stare affectionately at Frozenkit. Again, Dovekit pushed the thought to the back of her mind and padded away to the nursery.
