"Yeah."the kit mewed "How-When did y-?"she meowed untill she saw the sad look on the kit's face "Fireflower?" "Yes Ashkit?" "I have a message."...

Chapter 1
Flamekit woke up from his nap and walked around camp."Flamekit over here!"Flowerkit purred.He padded up to her"What now?"he sighed"YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!!!!!!!"Flowerkit Squeeled."I heard Shadowpelt say that it was time that I was an apprentice to Dawnstar!" "That's great!"Flamekit purred "You're on your way to becoming a sucsessful Medecine cat!Do you think me and Sparrowkit will be apprentices too?"he asked shyly"THINK?!?!?!I KNOW YOU ARE!!!!!"she yowled.Everyone starred at her"What?!?Can't I be excited once in a while?Jeeze!"she meowed.

"Let all those who want to hear this meeting come forth!"Dawnstar yowled"As you know Shadowpelt needs an apprentice so we will have an apprentice cerimony for our Medcine cat apprentice!"she yowled This is so cool I'm going to be a Medicine cat! Flowerkit thought "Our new Medicine cat apprentice is FEATHERPAW!"
Dawnstar purred.Flowerkit's heart sank,she felt as if everything she had worked for had dissapeared and had no meaning. Why?Why?WHY?!?!Did I not train hard enough?Did I...fail miserably?Is there somthing wrong with me?Or...Is it something to do with how I failed at saving my own brother Ashkit? Flowerkit thought hopelessly and ran to her den sobbing.Shadowpelt rushed after her"What's the matter?Do you not want to be a Medicine cat?"he meowed"Wha-what are you talking about?"she meowed puzzled."When Dawnstar said Featherpaw she was yelling at Featherpaw for mocking her."he laughed."So...I'm the new Medecine cat apprentice?!?!"she meowed excitedly."Yes you are,FlowerPAW!"

Chapter 2
Flowerpaw went into the healer's den"You can sleep over there Flowerpaw."Shadowpelt meowed in her ear."WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!"Flowerpaw hissed."Jeeze what's the matter...WOAH!!!!!!"Shadowpelt saw that the den had been torn up and everything was scattered"What happened to my-" "Ah hem!" Flowerpaw growled "I mean our den."Shadowpelt meowed.The two walked into the den when Flowerpaw meowed"Shadowpelt look at these!Tiny,ity,bity feet!Kits must have gotten in here!" "But how?Wouldn't their mother be watching them?"Shadowpelt mewed puzzled.He walked around and sniffed"The den smells like-" "LIKE MY BROTHER FLAMEKIT!!!"Flowerpaw interupted.She ran out of the den and noticed that her brother's paws led outside of the camp.She ran after the paw prints and deep into the woods.

"Flamekit?"Flowerpaw meowed"Where are you?!?"she yowled and sat down,looking into the sky."GREAT STARCLAN WHERE ARE YOU?!?!"she yowled as rain poured from the sky dripping on her face.She ran into an abandoned fox hole and stayed the night there"Great.Not only is my brother lost but now I am too!"she growled untill she fell asleep.Wherever you are Flamekit,please stay ok! she thought.

Flamekit heard."Must be my sister."he sighed as he followed the voice when it began to rain.He looked up and thought he saw his brother Ashkit watching him."Why?Why did you have to die?No...it's not your fault.IT'S STUPID FLOWERPAW'S FAULT!!!!!!IF SHE HAD JUST GIVEN YOU JUNIPER BERRIES AND NOT DEATH BERRIES YOU WOULD HAVE LIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!"he growled in frustration and swiped at a bush scaring two thrushes away.He cursed and stormed off into an abandoned fox hole when he heard"I'm sorry I killed him."

Chapter 3
"Who the-Flowerpaw?!?!"he mewed"Yeah it's me."she sighed"Did you hear what I said?"Flamekit asked shyly"Every word!"Flowerpaw sobbed"I couldn't even save my own brother!!!!!!!I'm so useless why did Shadowpelt choose me?!?!"she meowed through sobs"Shh shh it's ok Flowerpaw.I was just mad,I didn't mean it."Flamekit meowed sorrowfully and licked her forehead"Shadowpelt chose you because he know's you'll get better!Look if Ashkit didn't die you wouldn't have learned from your own mistake!"he purred hoarsly"And if he had lived?"she whispered"Ummm I think you would still have learned but all I know is this,I'm your brother and you can count on me!"he purred untill she bawled again"UGGHHH WHAT NOW?!?!?!?!"he hissed covering his mouth quickly as soon as he realized what he said"I'm sorry!Please don't cry again!"he meowed."It's just that..."she sniffed"How can I count on somone who trashes my and my mentor's den and runs away?!?!"she cried.Flamekit got mad but stayed calm"Ok so I did behave like a hindleg walker kit I was being stupid ok!Do you forgive me?" he meowed "Yes!"she purred.

When Flowerpaw fell asleep a Starclan message came to her"Fire and ice,black and white,moon and sun they are all opposites beware of yours!"a familliar voice meowed to Flowerpaw.She was in a clearing where all the clans met together in peace or in battle near the foot of one monster oak tree.She saw a small gray shape on a branch just above her"A...Ashkit?!?!Thank Starclan you made it to me!!!!"she stopped and began to whimper"I'm sorry I killed you.If only I had used the right medicine!" "Flowerpaw hush!I'm happier here!" Ashkit meowed and jumped down"My message will become clearer in time."he warned"That was your message now for you clan's message that you will share with the other healers:The moon shall change in one night,and bad blood will run through the veins of those who seek power."he meowed wisely and faded away"No don't leave me!" Flowerpaw yowled"NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!".She woke up and smelled blood and saw that the floor was covered in blood turning bright red in the sunlight.She heard a faint yowl and saw that Flamekit was gone and the blood led right out of the den with them smell of a fox!

Chapter 4
"Flamekit!"Flowerpaw screached and ran out of the den following the blood trail"Woah MAJOR De` ja vu!"she growled to herself as she ran."Flowerpaw help me!!!!!"Flamekit's voice faded away"I'm coming!"she called back,and ran even faster.She ran so fast she got to the fox in no time"Get away from my brother foul-breath!"she hissed and jumped on the fox.The fox tried to bite Flowerpaw,letting Flamekit down in a heap.He jumped on the fox but flowerpaw pushed him off"Get it's belly!"she growled.Flamekit did as he was told and slid under the fox unsheathing his claws.He swiped t the soft flesh and blood spattered on hs face"EWWWWWWW FOX BLOOD!!!!!!!!!"he hissed.The fox howled in pain and ran off throwing Flowerpaw onto the ground."We did it!"Flowerpaw meowed in triumph she walked over to Flamekit and put Dock to stop infections from getting in,Goldenrod to heal his wounds,honey to sooth his wounds,and cobweb to stop the bleeding."That feels good!"Flamekit purred."I'm glad it does!"Flowerpaw meowed and carried him back to camp.

"Flowerpaw,Flamepaw?"Oakfur meowed in dismay"Flampaw?Don't you mean Flamekit?"Flowerpaw meowed."He didn't tell you?!?!He's my apprentice and you sister Sparrowpaw is Redfoot's apprentice!We had the cerimony when you ran into the den!"he meowed."Oh."Flowerpaw meowed.Dawnmoon walked up to them"Why did you run away like that?"she growled"We had four whole parties out yesterday and we have three out right now!"she hissed."Do you know how worried we were?!?Do you know how worried I was?!?"she meowed"I thought that I had lost my other two kits!"she sobbed and grabbed them with her tail"Promis me you won't do that again?"she sniffled"Of course mama!"Flamepaw and Flowerpaw meowed in unison."I guess I have to punish you!"Dawnmoon sighed"Flowerpaw,Flamepaw no training for a week you are to stay inside the camp.Flowerpaw you have to help every cat around here.If they are hurt leave them to Shadowpelt.Flamepaw,you are to take care of the elders every day this week!"she meowed sternly and walked away."Well it doesn't get any worse than this right?"Flamepaw sighed."No it doesn't."Flowerpaw mewed Or will it? she thought grimly.

Chapter 5

--------------------------------------------One week later-----------------------------------------------

"Great we're not in punishment anymore!"Flamepaw purred"You're one to talk!"Flowerpaw growled."What's wrong?"Flamepaw meowed"I'm still stuck in camp because I'm a Medicine cat apprentice!"she sighed"Don't worry!I'm sure at some point you'll run out of herbs and get new ones!"Flamepaw purred"Awwwww Shadowpelt already went out yesterday and got herbs!It'll be ages before we get new ones!!!!!"Flowerpaw whined"Really?I didn't see him leave yesterday!"Flamepaw meowed"You never pay attention so that's why.Duh!"she meowed sarcastically.Flamepaw got mad"Look you may be a medicine cat but you're still my sister!"he growled and lunged at her"HELP!!!!!!!"Flowerpaw screamed as Flamepaw used warrior moves on her"HELP I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIGHT!!!!!!!!"she gasped under his weight.Oakfur,Redfoot,Dawnstar,and Shadowpelt dragged Flamepaw off of Flowerpaw"What in Starclan's name is wrong with you?!?!"Oakfur hissed"You can't fight a medicine cat even though she's you sister!"Dawnstar growled"Especially not with those warrior moves!" Redfoot snarled.The three cats took Flamepaw into Dawnstar's den while Shadowpelt healed Flowerpaw"We...We've always been so close.We always did everything together.We were so inseperable but now...it's all gone!"Flowerpaw whispered through sobbs.

"What were you thinking?!?!Attacking your own Medicine cat/sister!!!"Dawnstar hissed"Are you mousebrained?!?"Snarled Flamepaw"She was practically asking for it!!!" "I'm your mother and leader you cannot talk to me like that!"Dawnstar gasped"I can and I will!"Flamepaw hissed"She killed Ashkit,and she's never nice to me mom!She needs to die!"he sobbed"Look I know that your brother's loss is so hard to get over but that's not an excuse to try to kill Flowerpaw."Dawnstar whispered in Flamepaw's ear."I remember when you,Flowerpaw,Sparrowpaw,and Ashkit all playing and you four were all so close.But when Ashkit drank the poison and Flowerpaw gave him death berries on accident every thing changed.Sparrowpaw is quiet and shy.She was so outgoing and friendly.Flowerpaw became so ashamed of herself.You became a monster.And...three stopped being close.It's heartbreaking."Dawnstar cried.

Chapter 6
Flowerpaw ran into the medicine cats den and cried her heart out.She couldn't face her own brother now...no..that wasn't it,she wouldn't face her brother now."I loved you...I looked up to you.You were my biggest hero....what happened?",she cried into the nest she had made.Her light brown fur blended in with the twigs of the nest.Her icy blue eyes had a hurt look in them."Why do you hate me?I didn't mean for him to die...I promise.",she sobbed.Shadowpelt sat on the oppostie side of the den,staring at his young apprentice.He lowered his head in sorrow.I knew Ashkit wasn't going to live...even if he was givin the right berries...so I gave Flowerpaw the death berries on purpose.I've caused this family so much grief...but...i didn't want to see the kit suffer anymore,especially after his last words.Shadowpelt thought with misery.Suddenly a young cat came crashing through the ferns growing around the den's entrance.Brown dust covered Shadowplet's silky grey fur."Lionpaw you mousbrain,what is it?",Shadowpelt hissed."I uh...I have a huge scratch on my back leg.",he stuttered nervously."You don't need to lie just to see Flowerpaw!",Shadowpelt raored with laughter."Sh-shut up....that's not what I wanted to do...",Lionpaw growled in embarrassment."She's on the other side."."Thanks....".Lionpaw silently walked into the darkness that seemed to swallow everything.A small strand of light fell from the roof of the den,onto everything inside.Flowerpaw was curled up sleeping,tears stained her cheeks from crying.She looked so sad.Lionpaw bent down and sat with her.She woke up,startled at first,but when she saw who it was,she purred."Lionpaw.",she sighed and snuggled up to him."I knew you'd be happy to see me.",he laughed.After all,you were the same kit who always followed me,telling me all those random stories,and saying that you wanted to be a medicine cat because of your brother.But...you're so sad now...it hurts just to look at you.Your eyes used to sparkle when you were happy...but now they're dull.I want you to be happy again...I want to hear that sweet,happy voice you used to use.Lionpaw thought sadly.

"I don't want to anymore.",Flowerpaw mumbled."Huh?",Lionpaw asked,kinda blankly."I don't want to be a medicine cat anymore.",she said,looking up at him.He froze...those eyes were just...hypnotic."W-why?",he asked.Of course she just had to lighten the mood with a stupid joke."Because,if I continue to be a medicine cat,I couldn't love you.",she said purring."...You're joking......right?",Lionpaw asked starting to back away from her,his whiskers started to stick straight out."Nope.",she said inching closer.She was being such a tease.Shadowpelt came up behind her and whispered,"Those aren't your true feelings are they?"."N-no.",she said sadly."I understand,you only wanted to be a medicine cat because they were helpful,and you like helping.Warriors are just as helpful.We can re-assign you at the next apprentice ceremony.",Shadowpelt smiled.Flowerpaw jumped up and rubbed against him."Really?!?Oh thank you so much!When is the next ceremony?",she asked."Today.",Shadowpelt laughed."HUH?!?!",she hissed.They ran out to the clearing and the ceremony began."I'm sorry to say this,but my daughter has decided that the path of a medicine cat is no longer a path she wishes to follow,",Dawnstar said after a few other kits had become apprentices,"But,she has chosen the path of a warrior and promises to keep Dreamclan protected!",she yowled.The rest of the cats approved of this.Flowerpaw walked out onto the front of the ledge where her mother was."Flowerpaw's mentor will be...myself!",she purred.Everyone in the crowd was pleased except for Firepaw.After the ceremony ended, Dawnstar walked up to Flowerpaw and sat beside her.The veiw of the camp from the ledge was breathtaking,you could see everything."Mo-Dawstar?",she said."What is it Flowerpaw?",Dawnstar,she could tell something was wrong."Why does Firepaw hate me?",she asked,trying not to cry.Her eyes glowed in the moonlight and the wind blew her fur softly.Dawnstar began to cry at what her daughter said."He doesn't...he's just angry at what happened with your brother.",she whispered."If I could turn back time,I'd stop myself from giving him the berries...it wouldv'e been better if I hadn't have helped.",she said starting to cry."It wasn't your fault,you need to realize that.You need to grasp that thought and become stronger,I'll help you.",Dawnstar meowed softly.

Chapter 7
That's exactly what they did,they trained hard everyday,and Flowerpaw became stronger everyday.Even though she used to be the biggest kit in the litter..she was stopped growing for a while,while everyone else grew.She was small,but fiesty.Lionpaw's mentor was the deputy of Dreamclan,Goldenheart.They usually trained together,and they became close friends.Lionpaw was sitting outside of Goldenheart's den,wich was on the left side of the ledge,while Dawnstar's was on the right.Flowerpaw saw Lionpaw and ran to him."Lionpahhh!!!!!!!",she screamed when her foot slipped on the edge.Lionpaw's heart stopped for abeat but She just bounced over to him."You are such a cluts!",he laughed."I know.",she giggled.A white she cat with minty green eyes walked up to the two apprentices."L-Lionpaw?",she asked shyly."Oh hey Icepaw.",he said turning around."Oh ya sure ignore your best friend that's fine.",Flowerpaw growled in annoyance."Hush Flowerpaw!",Lionpaw snapped."Hmph.Whatever.",she said getting off the ledge.As soon as her back was turned,Icepaw scooted up to Lionpaw,"Oh I hope you're not upset with me.",she pouted.Flowerpaw hid in a large crack in the ledge where she could secretly hear them."I'm not.",Lionpaw purred.Look at him...flirting with...that!She thought,sticking her tounge out."You know Lionpaw...I'm so much nicer to you than that mean old Flowerpaw.",she said cuddling up to him.Mean?Me?Really?HEY WAIT A MINUTE THAT FOX CALLED ME OLD!she thought angrily."Yeah,you are.",he purred.Flowerpaw looked hurt by that.He thinks I'm mean."You think I'm pretty don't you?",she purred."Of course!",he said purring back."Prettier than her?"."Who Flowerpaw?There's no competition between you two,you're the prettiest.".Flowerpaw's eyes started to water up,her claws dug into the ground."Do you think we could be more than friends?",Icepaw asked.Flowerpaw couldn't hold her tears any longer,they began to run down her cheeks."You mean...like...love eachother?",he asked kinda shocked."Yeah.",Icepaw said shyly."Okay.",he said and snuggled up to her.Flowerpaw couldn't believe it.She fled from the crack,crying.Lionpaw's eyes widened as he saw her run away from where she was.She heard everything.He thought,in disbelief and sorrow.

Flowerpaw ran to the Clan's entrance."Where are you going?",Oakfur,asked."...hunting...",Flowerpaw said,her voice was shaking.He understood."Okay...don't run too far.".She smiled sadly at him and ran to the forest.I remember when I was the one who made you purr like that,when I was the only she-cat you had eyes for.I remember when I followed you saying stupid things like,'Lionkit...someday...someday we'll fall in love and have a family of our own.'...that was like a stupid promise to myself.I remember your laugh,that sweet,innocent laugh.But now...I'm just some mean,ugly she-cat who means nothing to you.She thought,crying as she ran.Memories flashed through her mind,when they were young,when ever they laughed,when they slept under the stars together telling old stories,the look on his face when she became a warrior's apprentice.She cried even harder when she realized,I love him...i really do....i always have...but now I finnally realize it.She ran untill the stars appeared.It was hard to see with the combination of darkness and tears.She slammed straight into a large furry animal.She almost screamed untill she recognized the scent."Firepaw!",she gasped.He laughed and turned to her.Even in the dark,his orange fur glowed like a fire."I couldn't fight you before because you were a medicine cat and you were weak...no excuses now!",he hissed with a sly smile.She looked up at him sadly with her ice-cold eyes.His ears bent back in fear but anger shone in his eyes.He lept forward at her and pinned her down."Let go of my paws please....I promise I won't run.",she whispered.He let her front paws gow and she reached up to his face.She pulled his face down to her neck."I...I still love you Firepaw...I don't care if you hate me.You've always been my hero...you still are.Do you...still love me...even a little?",she asked.He didn't say anything and looked away."If you truly wanted me to die...right now....you would bite my neck and end my life...but...I trust my big brother so much that...I'm letting you close to my neck,even if you could kill me,because I know...you wouldn't...because....you still love me.",she whispered with a sad smile.He let her go and she sighed."I do love you...I'm sorry for acting like a monster.What are you doing out here anyways?",he asked.She explained everything,but she fell asleep right after she was done speaking.She was so small now he could drag her back to camp,and she barely touched the ground.He layed her down into a nest in the apprentices den.He saw Lionpaw and Icepaw sleeping next to eachother but Lionpaw was awake.Firepaw glared at Lionpaw with hatred.He walked over to him and growled softly,"Just who do you think you are?You think you're gonna get away with hurting my sister like that?"."I've never really liked you either.",Lionpaw growled."Meet at the old oak when the shadows have moved a mouse-length over.",Firepaw hissed.'With pleasure!",Lionpaw hissed back.He curled back up to Icepaw .Firepaw walked over to the she-cat he loved,Spottedpaw.Her brown and white patched fur glowed in the moonlight.Flowerpaw looked up at the other cats.Everyone except for one cat,(who happened to be the new medicine cat apprentice),were all cuddled up to another cat.All except for Flowerpaw.She stood up and walked silently out into the camp.She sat on the ledge and looked out at the territory.The moonlight was so pretty.She sat there for a long time untill she saw two shadows slithering through the darkness."Enemies?",she asked to herself,her fur bristled.It flattened when she realized it was Firepaw and Lionpaw."What are they doing?",she wondered.She walked to the apprentice's den and prodded Spottedpaw awake."Hmm?Oh Flowerpaw what's wrong?",she asked."Where's Lionpaw and Firepaw?",Flowerpaw asked."They went out to fight...I think Firepaw said something about you.

Flowerpaw ran quickly after them.She caught them fighting at the old oak.She jumped from the top tree branch of a tree nearby.She landed between them and meowed loudly,"Stop it!!!Both of you stop it!!".Firepaw jumped at Lionpaw but Flowerpaw stood infront of him,Firepaw tried to sheath his claws but it was too late.He scratched Flowerpaw's cheek in a downward motion.The cut was deep and it started to bleed.Lionpaw swiped at Firepaw's face when he wasn't paying attention and stcratched a scar that went from the top of his eye,to the bottom.Firepaw screeched in pain."Think before you act mousebrain.That's what I hate the most about you.",Lionpaw hissed."You don't seem to follow that rule!You said my sister was mean and that she was far from pretty compared to Icepaw!What if you had known Flowerpaw was there?Would you had said that?It makes me sick that you said it at all!",Firepaw hissed in rage.Flowerpaw looked away,the blood ran down onto her chin.That's when all of them picked up a disgusting scent.All of them turned towards the scent and their fur stood up.They all said the same thing at the same time,"Badgers are heading towards the camp."
